Beth and Matt were married in Elizabeth City, NC at the Pines. Beth is my sister-in-law and I was so excited to help with her wedding! She still lives in Elizabeth City, where I am from and where Shelby is from! Since I was a bridesmaid in the wedding, Shelby was the coordinator (it is way too much for me to do both!). Shelby’s brother still lives in Elizabeth City, so it worked out perfectly for us to visit our families! I also did the flowers for this wedding and I’m so glad I was able to help! Big thanks to my friend Julie, from Jimmy Blooms for walking me through how to do the flowers on the cross.

Beth wanted green and gold for her wedding colors, which I think is ironic since she teaches high school gym at the high school in town with those colors 🙂 Beth and Matt met in Elizabeth City and are both teachers. Matt is actually from Erie, Pennsylvania and moved to Gates County first, before settling in Elizabeth City. My father-in-law passed away about 6 years ago and Beth had a heart from one of his ties sewn into her dress. Rich, my husband, and her brother, danced had the honor of walking her down the aisle and danced with her. It was super sweet.

The rain was threatening all day and did rain some. Right before the ceremony, Shelby was tracking the radar and there was a quick shower, so we delayed the ceremony by about 15 minutes, wiped off the chairs, and started! Beth had made a sign for the ring bearer saying that this would be the one time she was not late (because she really is late for everything!), but it wasn’t true! Matt’s Uncle was their officiant and has married many of his family members. The wedding ceremony went great after all the worry about rain! Beth has great handwriting and wrote all of the signs for the wedding. The dance floor was full all night!
