A Red Brick Wedding | Melrose Knitting Mill | Raleigh Wedding Planner

Raleigh Wedding Planner at Melrose Knitting Mill

I have known Lea and Justin for a long time!  Lea is one of my sorority sisters from college (go Chi O!) and she and Justin started dating while we were in college.  Justin is a fellow civil engineer and I helped get him a job at the company I worked for – so very small world!

Lea and Justin had been dating for a long time and decided to wait to get married when Lea was finished with pharmacy school.  She finished in May and was married in October!  She knew she would need some help while in school because well, pharmacy school is hard, and I was happy to help her!

We went and toured venues in Raleigh, where Lea and Justin live and wanted to get married.  There are so many amazing options and – it was very nostalgic for me!  Lea and Justin decided on Melrose Knitting Mill.  Melrose Knitting Mill is a gorgeous restored mill that used to make ladies lingerie.  It has red brick walls, which is very classic Raleigh, and has been remodeled into a gorgeous event space with stunning chandeliers.  There is a restaurant right beside it that provides all of the catering called Babylon, which is delicious.

Lea is from Mocksville, NC and Justin is originally from California.  They decided to go with the fall colors of wine and navy and to play off of their love of wine and as a nod to wine country in California.  Lea gladly drank wine with her friends and family to acquire all of the wine corks needed for her escort cards 😊  Justin regularly wears bow ties to work (I can attest to this!) and was very excited to pick out his bow tie for the wedding.  Justin’s sister is a talented graphic designer who helped with all of the paper goods!  Lea was busy with school and work when her Mom and I went to pick out her linens, and she completely trusted us to pick the ones she liked!  We had a lot of fun in the showroom and even brought Justin with us.

The wedding day was a gorgeous fall day!  The ceremony was on one side of Melrose Knitting Mill and then the cocktail hour was outside downstairs in the garden.  The room was flipped and ready for guests for the reception!

Lea and Justin, thank you for everything!

XOXO,

Amanda
