I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for a good wedding cake! I look forward to it more than I would like to admit. Wedding cakes can be so beautiful and have years of tradition behind them. However, cupcakes, which are almost the same thing, can allow you to mix it up and create a more modern approach. But for many brides, this decision can be a hard one. So if you aren’t sure what is best for you, check out the differences below!

Cakes are a timeless option for a wedding dessert. They can be extravagant, with many tiers, flowers, decorations, or a topper. Or they can be small, simple, and sweet. Cake cutting is one of the first things that a couple does together and makes for some fun pictures, too! Something to keep in mind is the time it takes to cut the cake pieces for all your guests.

Cupcakes as a wedding dessert alternative are a newer trend, but very practical and fun! Cupcake displays are so beautiful and add a lot of dimension to the dessert table. You can have different flavors or colors, or keep it all the same. This option is great for guests to grab their own dessert!

If you can’t choose, you can have it all! I love the idea of having a small wedding cake for you and your new spouse and then cupcakes for all the guests. Having both can help cut down on costs for desserts because cupcakes tend to be cheaper, but you can still have your cake cutting!
Best Wishes,
Joelle
