It’s time again to highlight another great vendor in the Charlotte area! Here at Magnificent Moments Weddings, we love nothing more than sharing these great vendors and the people who work there with you, our clients. This week’s vendor spotlight is on Lily Greenthumbs and the amazing floral designs they create.
Lily Greenthumbs is owned by the amazing Karen Greenoe, who opened the company in 2009. Her amazing eye for detail and a stunning sense of design has led to some amazing floral creations that are nothing less than beuatiful. Not only is her work to die for but she is pretty amazing too. So I thought I would sit down with Karen and get the skinny on all things Lily Greenthumbs. Here is what she shared:

How many weddings do you generally do each year?
Typically, we design 60-80 events per year. That includes not only weddings but some really cool corporate events too! But of course, weddings are my true love!
Do you have any memorable wedding weddings that stand out to you?
I’ve been so fortunate to design for some pretty incredible clients over the years. I think one of my absolute favorites was a few years back at the Mint Museum Uptown. The bride, Diana, was absolutely a sweetheart and trusted me completely. Every time I made a suggestion, she would say “Yes! I love it! But can we do it bigger?” Ha! I was lucky enough to be there when she and her new husband arrived for the room reveal of the reception. The first words out of her mouth were “F yeah! That’s what I’m talking about!” It wasn’t until AFTER she dropped an F bomb that she realized that her videographer was recording the whole thing! Whoops!
What is your favorite part about working in the wedding industry?
It really is about the people and the comradery. I’ve made so many incredible connections, both with vendors and clients, over the years. In the Charlotte wedding industry, we really are like a big family. A few years back, a fellow Charlotte florist had a sudden death in the family and without question (or payment!) a group of (some might say competing) florists came together and covered all of her weddings that weekend so she could be with her family. It was beautiful to see. We all work hard to lift each other up and celebrate one another’s victories.
Best piece of advice to a newly engaged couple?
Focus on picking the PEOPLE you want to work with above all else. Could you see working with this person for the next six months to a year? Or spending six to eight hours with on your wedding day? Find the people that put you at ease and you know you can trust and sort out the little details later. Don’t stress about having every little detail worked out before you start. You will get easily overwhelmed. If you have people you can trust and you love working with, the process will be MUCH more enjoyable!
