This week’s vendor spotlight is on Kathy Allen Fine Cakes and the amazing skills they have to offer!
Kathy Allen Fine Cakes is owned and operated by Kathy Allen who has been creating her stunning cakes for over 20 years. Her work is simply breathtaking, each one is a literal piece of art. Plus she is such a sweet and down to earth person to work with. Since she is so amazing, I decided to sit down with Kathy, to get the skinny on all things Kathy Allen Fine Cakes. Here is what she shared:
I am a small business creating 35-40 wedding cakes a year working closely with my clients and Event planners.
Many clients give me a family recipe to use for their wedding cake. One of my favorite brides brought me a bride and groom cake topper that was ugly and I had to incorporate it on the top, that was a challenge. My handmade sugar flowers around the bride and groom saved the day.
I am recognized as a sugar artist creating realistic flowers with delicate details. My cakes are a work of art customized uniquely for each bride. The wedding dress is always an inspiration for my designs and can be noticed in the wedding photos as the bride and groom are cutting the cake. My sugar flowers are a special remembrance of their wedding day, lasting indefinitely.
I have been in the Charlotte wedding industry or 28 years, seeing this industry grow into the incredible market that offers the best of everything needed! We have great teamwork with the best vendors and venues. The event planners execute perfection and happiness for our brides and as a team makes our bride’s dream come true! Weddings are more than just a celebration, they’re an experience!
My best advice to my bride and groom ……. Prioritize…… don’t work towards the expectations of others! Give yourself and your partner a little time to enjoy being engaged! less stress! Six months to one year you have a better chance to have your pick of vendors! Your cake tasting is sure to be one of the most anticipated wedding planning tasks. Make sure your groom and parents join the bride. Make it easy and hire a wedding planner.
