Margaret and Greg were married at The Ivy Place in Lancaster, South Carolina, just beyond the state lines of Charlotte, North Carolina. The Ivy Place is a gorgeous historic home on preserved land backing up to the Catawba River. The wedding was a perfect reflection of the fun Margaret and Greg had with all of their family and friends!
Margaret and Greg wanted to throw a party their friends would remember! They met in Atlanta and moved to Charlotte, so they wanted to have everyone up in NC to show off their new residence. Margaret, Greg, and Margaret’s Dad have a love of bicycling, so we used a few touches in the table numbers, bottle opener favors, and the place cards! They were bicycle “wheels” with every guest’s name on them!
Margaret decided (kind of last minute! ?) that she wanted to do a first look with Greg. She had a stunning dress that had a skirt, so she took off the skirt until it was time for the ceremony, surprising him again! Their first look was amazing and her first look with her Dad was so heartfelt! Then, she put on her skirt and it was like a new dress!
During the planning process, Margaret kept saying she wanted a really fun wedding. She had been to a lot of weddings, so she wanted something outside and fun! We toured a few venues, and she fell in love with the Ivy Place. She had also been engaged almost an entire year before reaching out about planners, and her only goal was to be married in 2018. I think we made that happen! She decided on a band with the sound she and Greg liked, with lots of country songs. Everyone was on the dance floor all night! She knew she wanted an all-white rose bouquet, and the simplistic look of the bouquet was the perfect complement to her gorgeous dress. Her bridesmaids’ dresses were all mismatched and looked amazing! We had so much fun picking them out in the store.
Since she and Greg met in Atlanta, she immediately told me she wanted to do King of Pops after our first design meeting. Which was really funny, because I had it in her book! I mean once she selected August outside, I knew we would need something to cool down with and it was perfect! Margaret was in a sorority in college, so they did their sorority song with her in the middle towards the end of the night. The perfect exit was a surprise getaway car from Greg’s parents!
Margaret and Greg, I wish you all the best!
XOXO,
Amanda
