Alex and Ryan’s warehouse wedding was truly one to remember. The couple married at Savona Mills, an empty factory in the heart of Charlotte. Though not a fully functioning venue yet, the couple used their vision to create a memorable event space that truly wowed their guests.
Their ceremony took place on a stage in front of 300 guests but the feel was definitely intimate. Alex and Ryan exchanged vows in front of a stunning greenery hoop surrounded by romantic candlelight. The industrial space was outfitted with hundreds of twinkling Edison bulbs creating a surprisingly intimate feel. The bride was given away by her father in one of the most touching moments I have experienced as a wedding coordinator. I think it is safe to say that guests could truly feel not only the love between the couple but the love of the family overall.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed signature cocktails, from Soul Gastrolounge a bar owned by Alex’s father. Their delicious drinks represented the couples deep charlotte roots including one called The Princess of Plaza Midwood, a moniker Alex is often referred to as by her family and friends. An amazing seating chart further showed off the industrial vibe with quirky neon lights showcasing the couples wedding date, it truly was a custom piece. Guests tables were draped with decent velvet linens and unique centerpieces that made the space, unlike any other wedding I have seen before.
Following an amazing dinner featuring traditional Greek dishes (a nod to the bride’s family) and my personal favorite fried chicken, the party got started. A live band kept the dance floor packed and the party vibe constantly flowing. Later in the evening a traditional Greek band allowing the bride’s family to show off their Greek roots through dance. The night ended as the couple exited through a sea of sparklers to her father’s vintage red Cadillac.
Alex and Ryan your wedding was truly one to remember! I wish you many years of happiness and love!
