Mint Museum Winter Wonder Wedding | Charlotte Wedding Planner

Bride stands with bridal party in amazingly deep red bridesmaids dresses all holding stunning hand tied bouquets by Jimmy Blooms

Kathryn and Andrew had a beautiful Charlotte wedding at Queens University’s Belk Chapel and the Mint Museum Uptown.  Kathryn and Andrew are an amazing couple and are so special to me.  Kathryn’s name is both of her grandmother’s just like mine and Andrew went to NC State.

Kathryn’s mother went to Queens and her parents were married there, so the ceremony location was very special to them.  The chapel is just gorgeous since the renovation!  Kathryn had stunning arrangements on the altar from Julie with Jimmy Blooms.  Kathryn and Andrew had their wedding guests sing a hymn with them during the ceremony and they enjoyed communion with each other as one of their first acts of marriage.

Kathryn and I worked on her design together and had so much fun!  She wanted to play up the winter feel of her wedding using greenery and gold and adding in touches of burgundy.  She also wanted to have the Mint Museum look like a clean and beautiful design.  Kathryn is a fellow engineer so we had so much fun working on her floor plan!  There were multiple versions 🙂 Kathryn had greenery runners with ivory linens and blush napkins.  She added pinecones for her place cards and they completed the winter feel perfectly!  She didn’t want too much burgundy, so lots of white flowers were added to the mix.  Lots and lots of candles added to the romantic feel of the room and the gold chivari chairs were the perfect metallic element.

Kathryn wanted to have Andrew’s favorite dessert, banana pudding, so there were actually three different desserts!  Wedding cake, banana pudding, and Krispy Kreme donuts.  Kathryn’s initials are KK, so her sign said everyone needs a little KK in their life!  So cute!  The night ended with everyone on the dance floor and the USC and NCSU fight songs!  All of the guests had so much fun dancing the night away and enjoying all of the treats!

Kathryn and Andrew, I am so glad your grandmother was able to attend and enjoy herself and I can’t wait to see you again at a game!

XOXO,

Amanda
