Mint Museum Uptown Stunning Wedding | Charlotte Wedding Planner

Kara and David were married at Myers Park Presbyterian with a stunning wedding reception at the Mint Museum Uptown. They met through mutual friends. Kara is in nursing school and David works in Commercial Real Estate. She kept her colors neutral with blush and champagne to evoke a timeless look for the evening. Even the ivory linens we picked out were classic!

My husband and I actually ran into Kara at the airport when I was on the way to Las Vegas for wedding MBA. She was one of the first people to text me to make sure I was okay with the shooting. She knew firsthand that I was there. And she also works the night shift at the hospital so she was awake 🙂

David has lost both of his parents, so his sister filled in with a brother-sister dance. On their wedding day, Kara opened her wedding gift from David and in it was his mother’s engagement ring with a note from David and his sister, wanting her to have it. It meant the world for Kara to have this ring; she is truly a part of the family now. The photo of her reaction is probably my most favorite photo ever. She was completely overwhelmed with emotion and thankful to both of them.

Kara and David moved to Chicago during their wedding planning process. We had a lot to talk about when they moved because Rich and I used to live there! It was fun catching up about the different places and things going on since we moved back to the South.

Kara wanted a very classic wedding reception full of candlelight. We used floating candles to reflect off of the glass windows on the ledge. We also had Lily Greenthumbs create some height in the room with their centerpieces to draw guests eyes up. The room looked amazing and was exactly what Kara wanted.
