A Military Charlotte Wedding
Eliza and Christian met at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte through a service leadership fraternity. I actually think Eliza was Christian’s “big brother” in the fraternity 🙂 They live in D.C. now but wanted a wedding in Charlotte, where their romance first started. Eliza wanted a full military salute leaving the church and to cut their wedding cake with Christian’s sword. She also wanted to incorporate some of her heritage into their wedding, so they had both sets of their parents cut their own cakes with them. It was really neat seeing all of the parents cut the cake along with them, well cut the three different cakes! They also had traditional Mexican food and Italian food together for their menu selection – something for everyone! Family Catering did an excellent job combining these two food groups together to make a tasting menu.
Eliza and I stuck with the classic rule of 3 (my favorite!) and had a mix of low and high centerpieces, mixed with floating candles. She also had romantic candlelight along the mantel and guest tables, lending to the blush, navy, and gold color palette she selected. Her colors can be seen throughout her signs and linens, as well as her bridesmaid dresses. She personalized her table numbers with photos of Christian and her as kids for guests to enjoy. She even purchased small take home cake boxes for any guests to put some to-go leftover cake in! Her wedding was a gorgeous affair!
Eliza and Christian, I hope you are enjoying your new fur baby!
XOXO,
Amanda
