Kelsey and Tyler were married at Jump Off Rock in Hendersonville, North Carolina in the mountains on a gorgeous Saturday. Kelsey and Tyler are the sweetest couple! They have 3 cats (potentially more – they were feeding one before they left for their wedding) and the nicest family ever. They live in Alabama, but Kelsey saw in a magazine the region of Asheville and decided she had to get married in NC!
I first spoke with Kelsey right around Thanksgiving and she wasn’t engaged yet. BUT she had found the ring. I’m not even sure if she told her fiancé that yet ? He did end up surprising her big time by putting the ring in her stocking – she was not expecting to get engaged over the holidays!
Kelsey wanted a really, really pretty wedding. That is exactly what she told me on that first call – it needs to be very pretty. I think we delivered! Kelsey loves red, burgundy, wine, and greenery. She actually loves Christmas too, but we didn’t want to do too much of that theme. Once we settled on a date, we started looking for a rental home. Since Kelsey was going to have 14 people, we wanted to provide enough rooms for everyone. And of course, it had to be pretty. We found one with an amazing view and a spot to have dinner al fresco.
Kelsey wanted to incorporate her and Tyler’s love of their cats, so she found some cat place card holders on Etsy. They were the perfect touch! I created a mini design book for her and we ordered and rented everything we needed. The outcome was even more beautiful than I imagined! Tessa with Folk and Wayfarer was amazing at capturing all of the photos. Kelsey’s family came for her one site visit to Asheville (in February and they are from Florida!) to deal with snow. It was such a special time and her parents are just the most generous people and her brother is like an old soul – wise and calm beyond his years.
Kelsey and Tyler, I know we will keep in touch! Kelsey and I joked that we wished we lived closer to each other because we really would be friends in real life. Well, I think we might just be long-distance friends in real life, Kelsey!
Kelsey and Tyler, and your families, I wish you all the best in the years to come!
XOXO,
Amanda
