Amy and Richard both live in New York but are from Charlotte. They went to the same elementary school but lost touch after elementary school. They actually met again on vacation at Sunset Beach in the summer through mutual friends and I really think that was fate. They left vacation and started dating up in New York and have been together ever since!
Amy’s mother, Kim, is who actually hired me and who I met with before the wedding. She was looking for someone to help make sure everything went smoothly and perfectly so she could enjoy herself on her daughter’s wedding day! This is honestly one of the top reasons we are hired – so that family members can enjoy the wedding day as well. Kim was so much fun to work with and I loved meeting Amy and Richard when they were in town.
They were so completely happy on their wedding day – Amy was radiant! Their band was amazing (probably my favorite wedding band of all time) and they were a fun party bunch that danced the night away! Amy and Richard got up on the stage with the band and had so much fun with all of their guests. They even had an after party at the Ballantyne Lodge, a property of the Ballantyne Hotel, where all of their guests stayed. Having all of their guests stay at the same location and have access to all the property offers during the wedding weekend was a real highlight for their guests. The color of the leaves could not have been any better! The reds and oranges were at peak season and provided a beautiful backdrop at the Ballantyne Country Club for the ceremony and for photos. Everyone was able to be outside for the ceremony, enjoy cocktail hour on the terrace under the market lights and have a blast at the reception inside the ballroom. The weather was perfect and the wedding day went great!
Amy and Richard, I wish you all the best!
XOXO,
Amanda
